Welcome to Buckit. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Buckit mobile application (“App”) operated by Buckit (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Buckit. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the App. By using Buckit, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your information up to date. You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or use another person's account without permission. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You retain ownership of the content you create and post on Buckit, including reviews, ratings, notes, photos, videos, saved experiences, and likes (“User Content”). By posting User Content, you grant Buckit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content within the App and for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. This license ends when you delete your User Content or your account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. You agree that your User Content will not contain material that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or otherwise objectionable. You will not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, contains false or misleading information intended to deceive, promotes illegal activities, or contains malware or harmful code.
We enforce content limits within the App. Reviews, experience names, profile information, and other user-submitted text are subject to character limits that we may adjust from time to time. Content that exceeds these limits will not be accepted.
Buckit offers a bulk import feature that lets you paste text (such as an itinerary or trip notes) and converts it into a list of editable draft reviews. The pasted text is sent to our parsing service, which uses Anthropic's Claude API to extract structured items, and is not retained beyond that request. You are responsible for the content you paste. Do not paste content that contains other people's private information or that you do not have the right to submit. You always confirm and edit each parsed item before any review is created.
To help new users explore the app, Buckit ships with reviews of well-known places (museums, parks, landmarks, and other notable venues) posted under a system account named buckit_ai. These reviews are written with AI assistance and are clearly attributed to the system account. They are opinions provided for discovery purposes only and are not user reviews.
We use a combination of automated tools and human review to moderate content on Buckit. Automated moderation includes a local content filter on your device and a remote moderation service that screens text and images before they are published. Content that violates our community standards may be blocked from being posted, removed after posting, or result in warnings or account suspension.
You can report any review, experience, or profile from within the App. Reporting categories include hate speech, harassment, inappropriate content, spam, violence, and “other” (with an optional description). Each user can submit one report per piece of content. We review submitted reports and may remove content or take enforcement action.
Our system may also automatically flag content for review. We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account at our discretion if we believe it violates these Terms or poses a risk to our community.
Buckit is a community built on trust and authentic experiences. You agree to:
The Buckit App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Buckit and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App without our written permission.
Your use of Buckit is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
Buckit integrates with third-party services to provide functionality, including:
Your use of sign-in services (Apple, Google) is subject to those providers' terms. Map data is provided by Mapbox and is subject to the Mapbox Terms of Service. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
Buckit is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Reviews and ratings on Buckit reflect the opinions of individual users and do not represent the views of Buckit. We do not verify the accuracy of user reviews and are not responsible for decisions you make based on them.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buckit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from reliance on user-generated content.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your content is repeatedly reported by other users, if you engage in activity that harms the community or the service, or for any other reason at our discretion.
Suspended accounts are restricted from posting content while retaining the ability to view the App. Suspensions may be temporary (with an automatic expiry date) or permanent depending on the severity of the violation. You will be notified of any enforcement actions through in-app notifications.
You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your profile, reviews, media, saved experiences, friend connections, likes, notifications, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone. Upon deletion or termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms within the App or on our website. Your continued use of Buckit after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the State of Florida.
